Common Compliance Terms

Compliance Dashboard |
If your dealership utilizes Adverse Action Notices, the ID Verification tool (IDOne), and/or Credit Score Disclosure Notices within RouteOne, the Compliance Dashboard will serve as a useful tool for your dealership. It shows the number of credit applications (not applicants) within 60 days that have been acted upon (or not) and those for which no action is needed. |
Category |
Compliance activities or documents to be generated that may be required by your dealership in order to comply with a law or regulation. Clicking on a Category link displays applications for applicants that may require action for the selected Category. |
Action Taken |
The number of credit applications for which your dealership has taken steps to perform a compliance activity or generate the indicated document. Examples of an action include: running an OFAC check, creating an Adverse Action Notice, or creating a Credit Score Disclosure Notice. |
Action Not Taken |
The number of credit apps for which your dealership still needs to complete compliance activities or documents. If a number shows up under this column, your dealership has not yet performed the compliance activity or generated the indicated document. The number does not include items where actions are not needed for a category, like a Business Lease deal without a co-applicant. |
Not Needed |
The number of credit applications for which the compliance activity or document may not apply. 'Not Needed' credit applications do not count toward your Compliance Summary % on the bar graph. Examples of these are approved credit applications that do not need an Adverse Action Notice, or Business Lease deals without a co-applicant. |

RouteOne’s subscription-based IDOne service enables dealers to help verify its customers’ identities using quizzes, risk alerts, database checks, and OFAC checks. |
OFAC Check |
RouteOne dealers can freely request OFAC checks using a customer’s name or social security number in order to ensure that an applicant is not an SDN ('specially designated national'). OFAC results remain associated with the applicant or deal in RouteOne. |
Document Storage and Forms
SecureDocOne |
SecureDocOne is a document storage service that helps dealers keep track of their paperwork and comply with recordkeeping requirements. Dealers subscribed to SecureDocOne Basic can use the service to store credit applications, decision details and decision history summaries, credit reports, credit report disclosures, adverse action notices, IDOne summaries, Privacy Policies, and eContracting paperwork. Dealers subscribed to SecureDocOne Plus can also upload non-RouteOne-generated documents for storage. |
Risk Based Pricing |
Dealers can help manage FCRA compliance by providing a Risk-Based Pricing Notice only to applicants who receive less favorable terms or by providing a Credit Score Disclosure Notice to every applicant. Like most dealers, RouteOne chooses to simplify compliance by making available Credit Score Disclosure Notices to all applicants. Both the Risk Based Pricing Notice and the Credit Score Disclosure Notice contain information about the consumer’s credit score and the price of credit. |
Adverse Action Notice |
According to the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and the Fair Credit Reporting Act, a creditor (e.g. a dealer who supports financing) must send an Adverse Action Notice to any customer who is (i) denied or revoked credit; (ii) experiences a change in the terms of an existing credit arrangement; or (iii) experiences a refusal to be granted credit in substantially the amount or on substantially the terms requested. |
Model Privacy Notice Form Builder |
A Dealership System Administrator (DSA) can prepare the dealership’s Privacy Notice using RouteOne’s Model Privacy Notice Form Builder. DSAs will be asked to note policies such as how the dealership collects and protects personal information and how it defines terms such as ‘Affiliates’ and ‘Joint Marketing.’ RouteOne uses the information supplied in the form builder to create a customized Privacy Notice PDF that can be saved or printed. |
